‘A kind hand and a belly rub’ Ontario SPCA Midland highlights foster need for loving dog family

Ontario SPCA Midland looking for fosters

The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society Midland and District Animal Centre is seeking fosters for animals as the centre deals with an increased need to home their animals.

A female dog and her three puppies are among those looking for their ‘furever homes’

According to community outreach coordinator Krista Grant, the female dog is a one-year-old, medium size dog who is nurturing and friendly.

“She is devoted to her puppies and has a gentle, affectionate nature. She happily welcomes attention and is more than willing to introduce her babies to anyone offering a kind hand and a belly rub,” said Grant.

The puppies looking for a home are approximately three-weeks old, and would benefit from positive human interaction.

“Gentle exposure to everyday household sounds, and safe introductions to new textures and age-appropriate toys,” said Grant. “Early socialization plays a key role in helping puppies grow into confident, well-adjusted dogs.”

As a foster, the centre will provide all supplies, veterinary care, and ongoing support.
