A B.C. woman who went missing in Oregon seven weeks ago has been found alive in Nevada, but there's still no sign of her husband.

Rita Chretien, 56, and her husband, 59-year-old Albert, vanished on a drive to Las Vegas. They were last seen on March 19 at a gas station in Baker City, Ore., about 750 kilometres from the Canadian border.

Chretien was found in a remote wooded area in Nevada by hunters.

She has been airlifted to hospital and is reportedly in good condition.

The couple's last financial transaction was in Baker City, and RCMP investigators said their cellphone was not used after their disappearance.

The couple's children reported them missing when they didn't return home.

"They're not like the type to just flit off and decide, ‘Oh we're not going to do this, we're going to do something else without telling anybody,'" Jennifer Chretien, the couple's daughter, said last month. "They wouldn't make anyone worry that way."
