While car-loving consumers are still crowding the isles and stands of the Frankfurt motor show where Hyundai's Vision Gran Turismo concept car is proving to be one of the highlights, the South Korean manufacturer is already teasing what it's got planned for the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show this November.

For this year's show, which showcases the best that the automotive aftermarket has to offer, from body kits to complete interior and exterior overhauls, Hyundai is teaming up with Bisimoto Engineering on a custom crossover based on the current Hyundai Tuscan which will be called the 'Brute Ute'.

"The 2016 Tucson was the perfect platform for this year's build, offering me the opportunity to captivate a wider audience by tapping into the growing popularity of the CUV market," said Bisi Ezerioha, owner and chief engineer, Bisimoto Engineering.

The actual car won't be revealed until November 3 when SEMA's first press conferences get underway, but Hyundai and Bisimoto have released the first rendering and a full breakdown of what to expect in terms of performance, and the figures are astounding -- especially when one keeps in mind that the company started out with the Tuscan's standard 2.4-liter Theta II engine.

Also used in the current generation Sonata, the aluminum block motor currently serves up around 185hp when being pushed. Yet, thanks to Bisimoto's use of new piston heads, camshaft, exhaust and the addition of a turbo among other things, the engine now outputs over 700hp to the wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and a seriously beefed up clutch.

"After hundreds of hours of testing and developing new engine components, we're confident that this power plant can handle what we're asking from it, delivering a fresh, race-bred take on the 2016 Tucson with performance and reliability at its core," said Ezerioha.

To deal with these Ferrari-baiting levels of power, the car has been lowered to improve stability and sits on adjustable airbag suspension. It also gets a new external aerodynamics package and wheels wrapped in racing compound tires. The outward look is described as the Streetfighter stance. However, it's an addition to the interior that could prove to be the most important element of the finished car -- a racing specification four-point roll cage.

SEMA 2015 takes place November 3-6 in Las Vegas.
