The Dubai police force has drawn a fair amount of international attention to itself over the past few years by adding several supercars to its fleet.

Well, they've done it again. The latest addition to the green-and-white-liveried Dubai force is a BMW i8 hybrid supercar. Given that the i8 only makes 357 horsepower and 420 lbs.-ft of torque from its combination of electric and gas motors it could acually be thought of as the economy vehicle in a fleet that also includes cars like the Nissan GT-R, Ferrari FF, Lamborghini Aventador, Aston Martin One-77, McLaren MP4-12C and even a million-dollar-plus Bugatti Veyron.

Dubai isn't the only United Arab Emirates city with a police fleet to make a car enthusiast drool though.

Not to be outdone, the police force in nearby Abu Dhabi has also bolstered its own fleet of police cruisers with the addition of a $500,000 Rolls-Royce Phantom to a garage that already included a Nissan GT-R, Chevy Camaro SS and Ford F-150 Raptor

The burgundy-and-white-liveried Phantom made its Abu Dhabi debut last Sunday, to help kick off the emirate's traffic hazard awareness week. The new Rolls-Royce is expected to be used mostly for promotional jobs than actual patrol duty, which may be for the best, lest people start committing crimes just to get chauffered in the luxurious backseat.
