Prince Edward Island once again led the country in voter turnout for the federal election. According to Elections Canada, a total of 95,684 out of 123,822 registered electors cast a ballot on the island – representing a voter turnout of 77.28 per cent. P.E.I. traditionally posts strong voting numbers for federal and provincial elections. New Brunswick and Nova Scotia also had some of the country’s highest voter turnout tallies for the federal election, at 72.24 per cent and 72.03 per cent respectively. Yukon was the only other part of Canada to post a voter turnout of more than 70 per cent, at 73.64 per cent. Nationally, Elections Canada says more than 19.5 million people cast a ballot in the federal election, representing a voter turnout of more than 68 per cent.
