Police on Prince Edward Island are renewing their call for help in finding a home invasion suspect. The RCMP is looking for 31-year-old Brandon Allan Butler of Summerside. He is described as being Caucasian, about six-feet tall and 165 pounds with dark brown hair and brown eyes. One week since home invasion Wednesday marks one week since the home invasion in O’Leary in western P.E.I. Officers responded to a home in the village around 3 a.m. on Aug. 5. Police say three people broke into the home and assaulted a resident with baseball bats. The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries. “The suspects fled the scene after stealing property from the residence including a vehicle,” reads an RCMP news release. “The vehicle was later recovered not far from the scene. The three suspects are known to police, and this is believed to be an isolated incident with no concern for broader public safety.” One of the suspects, 29-year-old Zachary Alfred Doucette of O’Leary, is facing charges in connection with the incident. Police say the third suspect is a young offender who can’t be named. The RCMP continues to ask for help in finding Butler. The force is asking anyone with information to call them at 902-853-9300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). For more P.E.I. news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
