A 24-year-old man has been charged following an alleged assault on a woman in Charlottetown, P.E.I., Friday night. Charlottetown Police Services responded to a report of an assault near Kent and Edward streets. “At approximately 9:30 p.m., a witness reported that a male with a knife, without provocation, had chased and knocked down a female to the ground. The female did not sustain any physical injuries and was able to seek safety in a nearby building until officers arrived on scene,” reads a news release from the Charlottetown Police Services. The woman did not know her alleged attacker. Police say the suspect was identified using video evidence and arrested nearby.
