Police say they have found the driver who allegedly fled the scene of a serious crash in Stratford, P.E.I., earlier this week. The RCMP initially said it was looking for a middle-aged man who likely injured his face in the crash. The man was driving a blue Chevrolet Equinox on Stratford Road around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday. Police say the Equinox was travelling towards the Hillsborough Bridge when it crossed the centre line and collided with an oncoming SUV. A passenger in the Equinox was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. All five occupants of the other vehicle were treated for minor injuries. In an update Friday, the RCMP said it has identified the driver of the Equinox and is no longer looking for him. There is no word on if the man is facing any charges at this time. Police say their investigation remains ongoing. Investigators previously said they believe alcohol and speed were factors in the crash.
