Four people were injured following a serious crash in Nova Scotia’s Antigonish County on Monday evening. RCMP, fire and ambulance crews responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision in Heatherton just before 7 p.m. Police say a Nissan Qashqai and a Toyota Corolla collided at the intersection of Highway 104 and Summerside Road. The driver of the Toyota, a 74-year-old woman from Bayfield, was taken to hospital via EHS LifeFlight with life-threatening injuries. She was the only person inside the car. The driver of the Nissan, a 23-year-old woman from Clydesdale, was taken to hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. Two passengers, a 43-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man also from Clydesdale, also went to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A section of the highway was closed for several hours while an RCMP collision reconstructionist responded to the scene. It has since reopened. Police say their investigation is ongoing.
