Vance Joy kicks off his latest tour starting with a show in Halifax on Tuesday night. The Australian singer songwriter is back on the road for the first time since his ‘Dream Your Life Away’ tour in 2024, an anniversary tour celebrating ten years since his debut album and for the first time since becoming a father. “It definitely shakes up your priorities,” Joy told CTV Atlantic’s Katie Kelly about touring as a new dad. On top of parenthood, Joy has also been working on new music. “I kind of put my head down for a week and really tried to make new music,” he said. He said he feels confident in some of his new work, which audiences of his latest tour can expect to hear. “It will kind of rejuvenate the set list,” he continued. Joy said he’s playing guitar in his Halifax hotel room to help with pre-show nerves before tonight’s performance. “We’ll always do our best and we’ll hopefully connect and make people hopefully sing and dance,” Joy said. He said the first shows on a tour are always fun because he feels energized to perform. “I think tonight will be no exception,” he said. Vance Joy performs tonight at the Scotiabank Centre starting at 7:30 p.m. Joy partnered with PLUS1 to give $1 from every ticket sold to support the Evenko Foundation and go towards the purchase of musical instruments for underprivileged schools in Quebec.
