Canadian jazz vocalist and former member of The Nylons Micah Barnes will take the stage for his upcoming solo performance ‘Up On The Roof’ at The Carleton in Halifax on Sunday. The show will explore pivotal moments from his youth in Toronto, through his time with The Nylons and his solo career. “It’s bringing The Nylons audience with me, so they get to know me personally,” Barnes told CTV Your Morning Atlantic’s Crystal Garrett. “It’s a lot of Nylon songs that you know and love, but also more of my story behind the scenes and what it was like to join a supergroup like that.” Barnes said he always loves performing on the East Coast. “There is something about the people more than anything else. I love coming here because of the friendliness and the openness of the good folks.” Barnes hopes the audience enjoys the mixture of The Nylons and individual songs in the show. “The audience will sing along for The Nylon songs, but then I get to introduce them to some of my own writing. Being at the piano gives me control and I get to be the pilot of the show.” For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
