Police are still trying to solve the murder of a man who was shot in Dartmouth, N.S., four years ago. Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of shots fired on Viscaya Place around 2:10 a.m. on June 11, 2022. Police found the body of a man who had been shot at a home in the area. The victim was identified as 34-year-old Nelson Tyrelle Beals and his death was ruled a homicide. Investigators believe there are people who have information that could help them solve Beals’s murder and they’re urging them to come forward. “Investigators are asking them to do the right thing and share what they know with police,” said Halifax police in a statement Thursday. “It is never too late to come forward as the smallest piece of information may be just what is needed to progress the investigation into Nelson’s homicide.” The murder is also part of the province’s Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program, which offers up to $150,000 for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in certain cases.
