Nova Scotia Premier Tim Houston has added a new responsibility to his portfolio amid a cabinet shuffle. Houston will now serve as the minister of Energy, taking over for Richmond MLA Trevor Boudreau. Houston is already president of the Executive council, minister of Intergovernmental Affairs and minister of Trade. “I want to turn Nova Scotia into an energy superpower,” said Houston in a news release. “Responsible resource development will power our economy for generations, combat poverty and help Nova Scotians earn more money.” Scott Armstrong is the new Attorney General, minister of Justice and minister of Equity and Anti-Racism, replacing Lunenburg West MLA Becky Druhan. Kim Masland, who is already the minister of Emergency Management, will now take over the Department of Natural Resources as Cumberland South MLA Tory Rushton leaves the position.
