A 36-year-old Nova Scotia man is facing charges in connection with a fatal collision in Cape Breton last year that claimed the lives of two people. Emergency crews responded to a report of a collision near the 8000 block of Highway 105 in Baddeck Inlet, N.S., around 6:10 p.m. on Oct. 7, 2024. When police arrived, officers learned a Western Star tractor trailer and a Hyundai Tucson crashed into each other and landed in a ditch. The driver and passenger of the Hyundai, a 45-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman from British Columbia, died at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer did not report any physical injuries. Victoria District RCMP arrested Matthew Seymour Creelman of Lower Truro last Thursday. He faces two charges of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death. Police say Creelman was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Wagmatcook provincial court on June 4. For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
