Police say a 53-year-old man has been arrested for impaired driving after he hit a tree and fled the scene outside Musquodoboit Harbour, N.S. RCMP, fire and ambulance crews responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1200 block of Ostrea Lake Road in Ostrea Lake around 3 p.m. Tuesday. Police say a Dodge Caravan hit a tree and the driver, who allegedly showed signs of impairment, was leaving the scene. Officers spoke with witnesses who reportedly said the driver had fled on foot into a nearby wooded area. “With the assistance of a remotely piloted aircraft system, the Halifax Regional Police Canine Unit and members of the public, the driver was located and arrested for impaired driving,” reads an RCMP news release. “He was transported to the Cole Harbour RCMP Detachment, where he refused to provide breath samples.” Steven Gordon Miller from Pleasant Point has been charged with: He appeared in Dartmouth provincial court on Wednesday and was released.
