Nova Scotia’s Need a Family Practice Registry has gone down again this summer. On July 1, there were 58,473 people on the registry. The number decreased to 54,582 by Aug. 1. “This number reflects the cumulative result of activity on the registry since its creation, including registrations, attachments to a family doctor or nurse practitioner, and other updates to registration status over time,” reads a news release from Nova Scotia Health. The percentage of the province’s population on the registry is now five per cent. The Western Zone continues to have the largest number of people on the waitlist, with 18,967.
