A 56-year-old man is facing assault and weapons charges after police seized nine firearms in Steep Creek, N.S., last week. On Sept. 28, police responded to a reported home invasion involving a firearm that allegedly happened two days prior. Police say a man entered a home of a person known to them, assaulted a person and damaged property before leaving the scene. The man was allegedly holding a firearm at the time. There were no reported injuries and no shots fired, according to an RCMP news release. Police executed a search warrant at a residence associated to the man on Oct. 1. They seized nine firearms – including four shotguns and three rifles – and ammunition.
