Man arrested for allegedly pointing firearm in Scots Bay, N.S.

A man is facing charges after he allegedly pointed a firearm in Nova Scotia’s Kings County.

RCMP responded to a report that a man had threatened another man in a Scots Bay home around 7 p.m. last Monday.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home in the 5000 block of Highway 358 as part of the investigation on Thursday.

A 48-year-old man was arrested, and police say they seized a rifle.

He is facing the following charges:

• pointing a firearm
• assault
• uttering threats against a person (two counts)
• unauthorized possession of a firearm
• possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
• careless use of a firearm

The unnamed man is scheduled to appear in Kentville provincial court at a later date.

Police say their investigation is ongoing.
