Halifax police charge Lucasville, N.S., man with child sexual abuse offences

A Halifax-area man has been charged with several child sexual abuse offences.

Halifax Regional Police said investigators in the integrated Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit received information back in April that a man living in Lucasville, N.S., may be accessing child abuse material online.

After several months of investigating, a search of the residence was conducted on Wednesday. Police said officers seized a number of electronic devices for forensic analysis.

Bruce Muir, 65, has been charged with:

• possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• distribution of child sexual abuse and exploitation material

Police said anyone with information on child sexual abuse and exploitation should contact investigators at 902-490-5020 or by using Cybertip.
