Nova Scotians can now access some lab test results through the provincial health app quicker than ever before. As of Thursday, some results will be available on the YourHealthNS app within 24 hours of processing, down from the previous seven day wait. “We’re continuing to make it easier for Nova Scotians to access their own health information,” said Michelle Thompson, minister of Health and Wellness, in a news release Thursday. “Having timely access to lab test records helps people stay informed and play a more active role in their care.” The province says the change applies mainly to blood and urine tests that are available through YourHealthNS. Diagnostic imaging reports available through the app will continue to only be released 14 days after they have been verified.
