Scottish-Canadian country star Johnny Reid and Cape Breton fiddler Natalie MacMaster will hit the stage together this holiday season. MacMaster’s husband Donnell Leahy and their children will join the pair at Centre 200 in Sydney, N.S., on Dec. 4. “Christmas in Cape Breton” is being billed as two shows in one night – “Christmas With Johnny Reid” along with MacMaster and Leahy’s “A Celtic Family Christmas... Party!” “I’ve been blessed to tour Canada many times, but there’s something particularly special about sharing the Christmas season with the people of this great country,” Reid said in a news release. “The holidays are my favourite time of year, and I can’t wait to get back out on the road to share in the Christmas spirit. The tradition continues!” MacMaster and Leahy’s show will reportedly feature new interpretations of Christmas favourites, Celtic music, fiddle performances and step dancing. Tickets will go on sale at the Centre 200 Ticketmaster page. The artist presale begins 10 a.m. Tuesday, a venue and radio presale will be at 10 a.m. Thursday and general sale is at 10 a.m. Friday. “Christmas with Johnny Reid” shows are also scheduled for Dec. 5 in Summerside and Dec. 12 in St. John’s.
