Monday will be another hot day for many Maritimers. Yellow heat warnings are currently in effect for Halifax County and western Nova Scotia. Environment Canada says temperatures will reach 29 degrees, though the Humidex will be near 34. “A hot and humid air mass will continue to bring a period of high daytime temperatures and elevated Humidex values. Conditions are expected to improve this evening,” the warning reads. The weather agency issues heat warnings when very high temperatures or humidity is expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses.
