Special command post set up for homicide investigation: N.B. RCMP

The New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit is following up on information it has received regarding the homicide of Richard ‘Ricky’ Matchett.

Matchett was last seen Aug. 9, 2022, in the community of Sillikers, N.B., and was reported missing the following spring on April 30, 2023.

Police determined his disappearance was suspicious and would be investigated as a homicide, according to a Sept. 22, 2023, news release.

The RCMP says a special command post has been set up at the Sunny Corner detachment and is asking anyone with information to come forward and report it.
