An on-ramp linking Chesley Drive to the Saint John Harbour Bridge in New Brunswick is about to close for several months. The city says the closure will be in effect from next Monday until mid-November. “This closure is required to support construction activities associated with the Harbour Bridge Rehabilitation Project,” it said in a news release. “Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time during this period. Updates will be provided as work progresses.” The bridge has been undergoing a phased refurbishing project since 2021. Lane closures and detours are expected to continue for the next few years. The project could cost as much as $31 million by the time it’s finished in 2028 – up from the project’s initial budget of more than $26 million.
