The RCMP is investigating an armed robbery in Moncton. Police responded to a robbery report Tuesday at approximately 8:35 p.m. in front of a business at the intersection of St. George Street and Weldon Street. A male suspect allegedly deployed pepper spray to incapacitate and rob a woman. The suspect fled the scene with the victim’s purse in a light-coloured vehicle driven by an accomplice, said RCMP in a news release. The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police said they only had a “general physical description of the suspect” but they are gathering information. Police are asking anyone with information or surveillance footage to contact Codiac Regional RCMP or Crime Stoppers should they wish to remain anonymous.
