The City of Moncton is installing a surveillance camera at a memorial dedicated to three RCMP officers after a bronze maple leaf was stolen from it last week. The city says there is no installation date for the camera yet. The memorial is dedicated to constables Doug Larche, Fabrice Gevaudan and Dave Ross, who were killed by a gunman in June 2014. Nadine Larche, wife of the late Doug Larche, said she noticed one of the 12 bronze maple leaves on the memorial was missing last week. “I’m very angry that somebody came here and stole one of the bronze maple leaves from the base of the monument,” Larche told CTV News Atlantic. In an email, the city said it is working with the site designer and the artist on a replacement leaf for the memorial. For more New Brunswick news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
