Man wanted on Canada-wide warrant arrested in New Brunswick

A 29-year-old man who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant has been arrested in New Brunswick.

A warrant was issued for Kody Hiltz on July 28 for allegedly violating the conditions of his statutory release.

The Saint John Police Force issued an update on Wednesday saying Hiltz had been arrested by the St. Stephen RCMP.

Hiltz is serving a four-year, six-month federal sentence for:

• motor vehicle theft
• dangerous operation of a conveyance
• possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
• possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
• two counts of obstructing a public or peace officer
• flight from a peace officer
• possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order
• unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited or restricted weapon in a motor vehicle
• unauthorized possession of a firearm
• careless use/storage of a firearm
• operation while prohibited
• three counts of failure to comply with a probation order
