The Fredericton Police Force is investigating the sudden death of a 16-year-old girl.

Police say officers responded to a call for service in the city’s northside on Sunday. When they arrive on scene, they found a deceased female.

The circumstances and nature of the death are being investigated by the force’s major crime team and the coroner’s office.

Police say, at this stage, no further details will be released to protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved.
