A new seasonal flight has launched at Moncton’s airport. On Friday, the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport welcomed service with Flair Airlines, which is offering direct flights to Toronto. The first flight departed at 1 p.m. Friday. “To have Flair join YQM is so important and really exciting for our region,” said Moncton airport CEO Courtney Burns. She said adding another affordable option to Toronto is welcome news for travellers in southeastern New Brunswick, especially at a time when other airlines have temporarily reduced service due to rising fuel costs. “It not only offers variety, but when you think about ongoing challenges in the industry and rising costs, to have different carriers who all have different operating models, different cost structures, I think it better diversifies our market.” The new seasonal service will operate three times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through Oct. 23, 2026. “We’ve seen a large drive in domestic travel and people wanting to explore more of this great country, and Moncton has just been top of that list for a lot of people,” said Kim Bowie with Flair Airlines. Airport officials said they are hopeful the airline could eventually expand beyond Toronto and add service to other destinations. The nonstop service was first announced in October.
