A 40-year-old man has been charged after a drug seizure in Saint John, says RCMP. Police say they attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling southbound on Route 7 near Grand Bay-Westfield around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The vehicle, which only had one person in it, allegedly didn’t stop for police and continued towards Saint John at high speeds. A short time later, police say they found the vehicle on Route 1 in the Saint John area and pulled it over. During the investigation, a man was arrested and quantities of suspected fentanyl and cash were seized. In a news release Friday, police said Ranjinder Singh Sandhu of Richmond, B.C., appeared in court Thursday where he was charged with flight from police and possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking. Sandhu was remanded into custody, and it set to appear in court for a bail hearing on Monday. Police say the investigation is ongoing. For more New Brunswick news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
