Five people charged with conspiracy to commit murder appeared in a Moncton courtroom Monday morning. One woman and four men were charged on Nov. 24, 2025 with conspiracy to commit the murder of Sylvio Saulnier. Janson Bryan Baker, Jesse Todd Logue, Nicholas Daniel Bain, Christopher Allen Lennon and Monique Alicia Boyer are the five accused. Each of the accused were to elect how they wanted to be tried, but the judge put the matter over until Feb. 9 so each lawyer could go over the large volume of evidence. Baker was charged with two counts of first-degree murder on Sept. 7, 2023 in connection with the Sept. 7, 2019 deaths of 78-year-old Bernard Saulnier and 74-year-old Rose-Marie Saulnier, Sylvio Saulnier’s parents. The Dieppe couple’s bodies were found in their home and the RCMP ruled their deaths as homicides. Baker’s double-homicide trial is scheduled to begin on Tuesday. Jury selection took place on Saturday. On Monday, Bain, Logue and Lennon appeared in the Moncton courtroom while Boyer appeared via video teleconference. Bain, saying he would represent himself, spoke to the judge in French and requested his trial on the conspiracy to commit murder charge be held in French. Logue asked the judge if he could make his next appearance via video and his request was granted. Neither Lennon nor Boyer addressed the court. All five accused remain in custody.
