A man is facing charges after police made a large drug seizure in northern New Brunswick earlier this week. Police say Michel Leclerc, 56, of Grand Falls was arrested as part of a drug trafficking investigation on Monday. Officers executed a search warrant at his home after his arrest. They reportedly seized “significant” quantities of drugs, including methamphetamine and opioids. “The seized drugs have an estimated street value of more than $200,000. Officers also seized drug paraphernalia, a prohibited firearm, a large sum of cash and other items associated with drug trafficking,” reads a news release from the Grand Falls Police Force. Leclerc appeared in Edmundston provincial court on Tuesday. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing on Friday. Police say he faces multiple charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Criminal Code. For more New Brunswick news, visit our dedicated provincial page.
