A Nova Scotia youth is facing charges after allegedly making an online threat towards a fellow student. Police received a report of a social media post threatening a student at a school in Auburn, N.S., Monday around 10:25 a.m. Police say the post included an image of a person holding an object described as a weapon, along with a caption indicating the person was waiting for the recess bell. “Officers attended the area of the school and arrested the youth without incident. A knife was seized; however, it wasn’t the object shown in the image, which was later determined to be a metal pipe,” read a news release from RCMP. The youth was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in Kentville provincial court at a later date for uttering threats and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The investigation is ongoing. For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
