A weather front associated with a low-pressure system moving through Quebec will bring rain and showers to the Maritimes on Sunday. Most of the region can expect to be in the weather to be damp as early as sunrise on Sunday. Cape Breton may stay out of the showers until later in the day. Showers, drizzle, and fog are expected through the day and into Sunday evening. A gusty southerly wind will accompany the wet weather on Sunday. Peak gusts of 40-to-60 km/h for Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and the Bay of Fundy coastline of New Brunswick. The remainder of New Brunswick will see peak gusts of 30-to-50 km/h. The Sunday weather front plays a role in the soggy start to next week as well. The system stalls in the vicinity of the Maritimes for Monday and a second system moves up and along it off the Atlantic. A cloudy sky with showers during the day on Monday will turn to rain, drizzle, and fog for Monday night. Rain is likely to linger into Tuesday for the Maritimes. The rain clearing New Brunswick through Tuesday morning and clearing Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia by Tuesday evening. Rain totals of 5-to-15 mm can be expected in the Maritimes on Sunday. A similar amount possible during the day on Monday. Parts of Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia could then pick up an additional 10-to-20 mm of rain Monday night and Tuesday.
