THE HAGUE, Netherlands - The UN Yugoslav tribunal says the war crimes trial of former Bosnian Serb Gen. Ratko Mladic will resume June 25, about a month later than initially planned.
The trial was put on hold shortly after it began this month after defence attorneys said prosecutors had failed to disclose all case documents.
Judges agreed, saying the disclosure failures by prosecutors were significant enough to warrant a delay. But on Thursday the judges rejected a defence request for a six-month halt, saying a shorter postponement of the original May 29 date to hear the first witness was more reasonable.
Mladic is facing charges including alleged genocide for his role as the top military commander of overseeing the massacre of at least 8,000 Muslim men and boys at Srebrenica, Bosnia in 1995.
