Nashville Predators defenceman P.K. Subban has received a special birthday wish from the Montreal Children’s Hospital that he frequented during his time with the Montreal Canadiens.

The popular player turned 28 on May 13.

Children and staff at the hospital posted a video on Twitter of them singing “Happy Birthday” to the former Montreal Canadiens defenceman along with a message saying, “@PKSubban1 the Children’s hospital has a special something to say to you!”

Subban replied to tweet saying, “Thank you @HopitalChildren!! Miss you guys. #PKSF @PKSF1”

Subban pledged to raise $10 million for the Montreal Children’s Hospital over seven years in 2015 and has already reached 10 per cent of his goal. The blueliner was traded to the Predators in June 2016 but has maintained his promise to the hospital.

His charity program at the hospital, P.K.’s Helping Hand, is dedicated to helping families who are financially devastated by a child’s illness.

Since leaving the city of Montreal, he has since returned to visit patients and has even involved them in the charity work he has started doing in Nashville. Children at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Nashville received letters from children in Montreal

Since the Canadiens were eliminated in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, many Habs fans have been supporting the Predators and Subban, hoping that he’s able to win the Stanley Cup and bring it to Montreal to share with the children’s hospital.

Subban played seven seasons for the Montreal Canadiens.
