Controversial tech company Uber is bringing its meal delivery service to Toronto.

The company is launching UberEATS in the city on Thursday, as part of the app for Uber’s car service.

Starting at 11 a.m., app users can order meals from local restaurants and pay their tabs through their smartphones. Each order comes with a flat $3 delivery fee, and the company says orders will be delivered in 10 minutes or less.

UberEATS is only available Monday to Friday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., in an area of the city's downtown core bordered by Bathurst Street in the west, College Street in the north, Sherbourne Street in the east and Lake Ontario in the south.

The service is also offered in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and Barcelona.

The menu is available online.
