Marlene first joined CTVNews.ca in Toronto in 2012, starting as an online writer. Over her four years there, she helped cover major news stories, including the Rob Ford crack scandal, the 2014 Parliament Hill attack and the 2015 federal election. Besides breaking news, she also developed a passion for reporting on health stories and human rights issues.

Since 2016, she’s been working as a digital content editor and video editor, creating specialized text-on-video content.

She loves exploring new ways of storytelling and the challenge of creating customized themes and graphics for her videos.

She was part of the CTV News online team that won the RTDNA's Digital Media Award in 2015, as well as the COPA Best Media Website and Best Digital Solution awards in 2015. She was also a top 10 finalist for the 2018 TVO Short Doc contest, with an independent documentary she produced, filmed and edited.

Marlene has a Master of Arts in Journalism from Western University, a Master of Public Health from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Ontario.

She speaks English and has a good working knowledge of written and spoken French.
