CALGARY - Former Canadian women's hockey star Cassie Campbell-Pascall is now a mother.

Campbell-Pascall, who is married to Hockey Canada official Brad Pascall, gave birth to Brooke Violet Pascall early Wednesday. The baby girl weighed a little over eight pounds.

Campbell-Pascall is the only Canadian player to serve as captain on two Olympic championship teams. The 36-year-old from Brampton, Ont., won gold in 2002 at Salt Lake City and in 2006 at the Turin Games.

Pascall is the senior director of men's national teams for Hockey Canada. The couple make their home in Calgary.

Campbell-Pascal retired in 2006 and is a hockey commentator for both CBC and TSN.
