Women singing like men. Men singing (and dressing) like women. Women singing like other women, and only one man being The Rock.

Canadians went wild for musical mashup videos this year, according to YouTube Canada's list of the top trending videos of 2016.

Here are the country's 10 most popular videos of 2016.

1. Channing Tatum's Beyonce Lip Sync Battle (36.9 million views)

Who run the world?

Channing Tatum.

Tatum dressed up as Beyonce for an appearance on the popular show Lip Sync Battle, where he recreated the video for the song "Run the World (Girls)." The performance included a cameo appearance from Queen Bey herself, along with Paula Abdul.

Nicole Bell of YouTube Canada said the video was successful because it had "some of the great moments of what makes a video go viral."

The video also included a performance by Jenna Dewan-Tatum, who recreated her husband's big dance number from the film "Magic Mike."

2. Adele does Carpool Karaoke (135.8 million views)

Adele doesn't need a production studio or AutoTune help to belt out an incredible musical performance. The British songstress showed off her natural talent in one of James Corden's popular Carpool Karaoke segments, singing such hits as "Monster" by Nicki Minaj, "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls and "Hello" by, well, Adele.

Bell said the video was a hit, in part, because it showed another side of Adele. "You got a great sense of her hilarious personality," Bell said.

She also pointed out that Corden's show became the most popular late show on YouTube in 2016.

"In 2016 we saw late night content – people watching that on YouTube – almost doubled in the last year," Bell said.

3. So you want to move to Canada, eh? (3.3 million views)

Long before Donald Trump became the Republican nominee for U.S. president, some Americans were already openly pondering a move to Canada. Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres satirized that chatter back in March, with a tongue-in-cheek video featuring a Canadian response to Americans who wanted to move north. "No, leave us the f--- out of it," the friendly-looking Canuck, named Guy LeBlueBlah, says in the video.

"Canadians love to see our own content reflected back to us on YouTube," Bell said.

4. How to be a YouTube Star (9.1 million views)

Everything's better if you add Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to it, right?

The Hollywood superstar joined Canada's very own IISuperwomanII, a.k.a. Lilly Singh , in a "how-to" video on her wildly popular YouTube page. Singh offers The Rock a few tips on how to craft a winning YouTube persona, though her efforts repeatedly fall off the rails in the presence of 2016's Sexiest Man Alive.

5. Celine Dion on Fallon's Wheel of Musical Impressions (19.4 million views)

Canadian singer Celine Dion wowed the Internet with an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where she took part in a game of musical impressions. Dion delivered some good-to-incredible impressions of Cher, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Sia. She even started twerking during the Rihanna impression, until Fallon told her to stop.

The clip came out approximately six months after the death of Dion's husband, Rene Angelil. "This was one of the first times that Canadians had a chance to see her having a really fun time, and I think we're always going to be in her corner," Bell said.

6. What's inside a rattlesnake rattle? (59.5 million views)

A young boy stars in the only science-based story on this list, which shows how a rattlesnake makes its signature sound.

The close-up portion of the video, in which a man cuts into the rattlesnake tail with a knife, is hypnotic to watch.

7. Zombie apocalypse prank (21.9 million views)

Two brothers gave their sister a "Walking Dead"-style surprise, by faking a zombie apocalypse for her while taking her home from wisdom tooth surgery.

Watch as a teen girl with a mouth full of cotton balls freaks out about the end of life as she knows it.

8. Soccer trick shots (39.2 million views)

Soccer trick shots. Or football trick shots, if that floats your boat. The video delivers exactly what it promises.

9. Obama can't say Mississauga (925,000 views)

Canadians got a kick out of watching U.S. President Barack Obama flub the pronunciation of Mississauga, a city in the Greater Toronto Area, back in May.

10. Fire burns through background of news report

A local news reporter in Fort McMurray, Alta., got pretty close to the wildfires ripping through the city on May 3.

Trailers, music and more

The first trailer for "Suicide Squad" was the hottest one of 2016, followed by "Captain America: Civil War" and the official teaser trailer for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."

"The trailer is this major moment for fans," Bell said. She pointed out that the trailers for "Suicide Squad" and "Captain America" were particularly popular because they offered first glimpses of two iconic characters, in the Joker and Spider-Man. Bell said it was a "genius move" by Marvel to put Spider-Man at the end of the "Captain America" trailer, so viewers would have to watch it all the way through to see him.

Rihanna (and Drake) topped the list of most popular music videos in Canada, with their Toronto-shot video for Rihanna's "Work."
