Jennifer Lopez has changed her name.

For the last 10 years, the singer's legal name has been Jennifer Muniz, which she took from her former husband Marc Anthony's last name - his real name is Marco Muniz - when they tied the knot in 2004.

However, court documents obtained by TMZ show that Lopez, 45, reverted to her original name on December 31, 2014.

Lopez and Anthony split in July 2011, with the 'On The Floor' hitmaker later dating dancer Casper Smart, who she separated from in the summer of 2014.

Lopez admitted recently she felt like she was "going to die" when her marriage to Anthony broke up.

Speaking on HBO documentary 'Jennifer Lopez: Dance Again', she said:

"That hope, that dream, that fairytale, with that first time that dream gets blown to pieces, you feel like you're going to die.

"You feel like you failed. You feel like no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't make it work."

Lopez said divorce was particularly agonising because she knew their children, six-year-old twins Max and Emme, would be heartbroken.

She said: "That wasn't my dream. My dream was for us to always be together.

"You never want to break up family."
