Surfing Santas

It was a sunny Christmas Day at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia – with temperatures reaching 28 degrees Celsius. Plenty of surfing Santas, both locals and tourists, were caught on camera catching waves.

But swimming in Australia this time of year is far different than swimming in, say, Germany.

In this picture, Amelie and her father Mario are spotted in the Oranke Lake in Berlin. They are braving the cold as part of an annual event in the city. They were lucky this year --  temperatures were fairly mild at around 5 degrees Celsius. Still, it's a dip these Santas will never forget. (AP / Markus Schreiber)

Skydiving Santas

And some Santas prefer to spend their time in the sky, rather than the ocean.

Eighteen skydiving Santas landed safely in the sand at Cocoa Beach in Florida this Christmas.

More than 4,000 spectators turned out to watch the jump.

Three-hundred other Santas were also at this beach – but they were surfing. This is part of an annual event in the city that raises money for Grind for Life – a group that supports families battling cancer. (AP / Florida Today, Malcolm Denemark)

Fire-wielding Santa

Finally, there’s this Santa. Not braving the cold, and not up in the sky – but playing with fire. He lit up several flares while on a boat ride in Imperia, Italy on Christmas Eve (AP / Antonio Calanni):
