Superstar singer Celine Dion has given a shout-out to a Canadian man after his spoof video of her hit track "All By Myself" went viral.

Canadian-born Richard Dunn shot the gag video on his iPhone while waiting for his flight at the near-empty McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas. In the video, Dunn sings his heart out in several different airport locations, including the women's washroom, an empty food court and from behind a Delta airlines ticket counter.

Since it was posted to Vimeo last weekend, the video has garnered over 13 million views.

Dion responded to the video with a personalized message to Dunn on Thursday.

"I have to say that the video was hilarious and very touching, I loved it. But next time you're stuck all by yourself at the Las Vegas airport for hours and hours, please be my guest at my show," she tells Dunn in a video message posted to YouTube.

"And by the way Richard, you're more than welcome to use my bathroom. So I hope to see you soon."

Dunn said he's shocked that the Canadian songstress took the time to record a message for him, as she rarely responds to videos about herself.

He added that he still isn't 100 per cent certain why his particular video took off.

"That's the mystique about a viral video, there is no formula: it hooks, and it goes, and it's gone, and nobody knows why," he said.
