TORONTO -- Ad-Rock and Money Mark of Beastie Boys fame are reuniting for Toronto's Luminato Festival this summer.

Organizers say the two will pen an original song for a multi-disciplinary colour guard event masterminded by Talking Heads founding member David Byrne.

Byrne himself will also take to the stage at the "Contemporary Color" show, which will have its world premiere at the Air Canada Centre on June 22 and 23.

Other artists performing in the event include Nelly Furtado, Kelis, St. Vincent and Lucius.

The production will pair 10 high school colour guard teams with an array of artists.

Colour guard sees dancers performing routines to music -- often that of a marching band -- with props including flags, rifles and sabres.

"Modern dance and jazz meets drill team meets Esther Williams -- without the water -- meets community theatre. Sounds like my kind of crew!" Money Mark said in a statement.

"Plus, I get a chance for a high school do-over. Glad to be part of Contemporary Color!"
