Police investigating a triple fatal shooting in a Hamilton, Ont. home over the weekend have confirmed that a man shot and killed his 19-year-old girlfriend and his younger brother before turning the gun on himself.

Officers were called to a residence in Stoney Creek last Saturday at approximately 7 p.m. There, three people were found shot dead. A 70-year-old woman was also found with gunshot wounds.

In a statement Tuesday, Hamilton police identified the relationship between the victims.

They confirmed that the gunman James Milroy, 37, shot his girlfriend Aerlaena Smith, 19, his brother Michael Milroy, 32, and the 70-year-old woman, who remains in critical condition. He then turned the gun on himself.

Police say they have wrapped up their investigation at the scene, however the investigation continues.

If anyone with information is asked to call 905-546-4123 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.

A GoFundMe page has been set up in order to raise money to cover the funeral and plot costs for Smith. The fundraising page said that any money left over will be put in a trust account for her two young sons.
