A group of about 10 orcas put on quite the show for the crew of a container ship in the Boundary Pass strait in B.C. on Aug. 23.

The playful killer whales surfed in the large ship’s waves to the delight of the ship’s crew on deck, including John Porter.

The B.C. man filmed the remarkable event and posted the three-minute long video to Facebook where it’s received more than 70,000 views. Boundary Pass runs along the Canada-U.S. border south of the Gulf Islands.

Orcas also made headlines in B.C. earlier this month when a whale-watching company shared some incredible images of a tussle between a group of orcas and humpback whales on Aug. 7.

The rare encounter was caught on camera off the coast of Vancouver Island.
