EDMONTON - Two people who were on board a single-engine plane were injured when the aircraft crashed west of Edmonton.

RCMP Const. Chris Clark says the plane ended up in a small body of water in a rural area of Parkland County on Saturday afternoon.

Clark says both were taken to hospital but their injuries weren't life-threatening.

Chris Krepski with the Transportation Safety Board says the plane was a Cessna 182.

Krepski didn't know where the plane was from or what it was doing when the accident happened.

He says investigators with the safety board have been dispatched to the site.
