Toronto Mayor Rob Ford celebrated his birthday with family at a Bracebridge, Ont. bar on Wednesday night.

An employee at the Crabby Joes location in Bracebridge, who asked that she remain anonymous, confirmed to CP24 that the mayor was at the bar, but said that he wasn't served any alcohol.

"Had a nice birthday meal with family," the server said.

The mayor is receiving treatment for substance abuse at GreenStone Clinic in nearby Bala, Ont.

Toronto resident Victoria Thompson told CP24 she was also at the bar Wednesday night, and stopped to pose for a photo with him.

She said the mayor seemed "dumbfounded" when she approached him.

"He seemed pretty good though, pretty content."

According to his brother Coun. Doug Ford, the mayor will be back to work in four or five weeks.
