Regina police are dealing with their second homicide in two days and the city's fifth of the year after a charge of second-degree murder was laid in the death of a young man.

Investigators say Trent Mark Pascal, a 22-year-old Regina resident, was found injured early Monday morning and was pronounced dead at hospital.

A 36-year-old suspect was taken into custody later in the day.

Steven Blaine Pascal is also charged with breaching an undertaking from an unrelated matter.

The arrest came the same day a 26-year-old Regina man appeared in court on a charge of second-degree murder from a separate case involving the death of a 33-year-old woman.

Duran Justin Redwood was arrested hours after the body of Celeste Yawney was found Sunday morning at a home in the city's northwest.
