SUSSEX, N.B. - Environment Canada has issued rainfall warnings for several areas of southwestern New Brunswick.

It says up to 35 mm have already been reported and another 30 mm are expected later in the day.

The warnings take in several counties, including Queens, Kings and Charlotte along with the communities of Sussex, St. Stephen and Grand Manan.

The agency says the rain and thunder showers will taper off in intensity, but will continue throughout the night.

It says such heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
